Quick Facts

Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

Location: Access the Glade Creek Trailhead from the Grassy Lake Road 4.5 miles west of Flagg Ranch about 3/4 of a mile after you enter the area burned during the 1988 Greater Yellowstone fires.

Notes: There are no facilities at this trailhead-remember to bring water and use a restroom before you arrive. Bears may be active any place and at any time-travel in groups, make noise and carry bear spray. Backcountry camping requires a permit- pick one up at a backcountry permits office. The road doesn't open until after June 1 due to grizzly bear migration.

Destinations

The Glade Creek trail travels south through the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway to access remote backcountry trails in the northern part of Grand Teton National Park. This is wild country! There are no bridges across swift-flowing mountain streams including Berry Creek, Owl Creek and Moose Creek. Please note this is prime grizzly bear country with few other visitors. The Grassy Lake Road doesn't start to open until after June 1 due to grizzly bear migration.
