Loop A Fort Pickens Campground is the most popular at the national seashore with 43 total sites to choose from. Live oaks and other trees provide excellent shade over nearly all sites and there is a beach access point directly across the street from the entrance to the campground loop.

The loop is located east of the main campground loops. To the north of the loop is the Blackbird Marsh Trail, a nature trail with interpretive panels. The trail connects to the Florida Trail providing access to the rest of the Fort Pickens Area.
