The Fort Pickens Area is located on the western end of Santa Rosa Island and preserves over a century of American coastal defensive structures.

The area features many beach access points to visit the incredible white-sandy beaches and enjoy the blue-green waters of the Gulf of America. Take a hike on one of the many trails, including the Florida National Scenic Trail.

In the historic district, explore the historic fortifications with a ranger or with one of the self-guiding tours. The Fort Pickens Discovery Center offers fun, interactive exhibits for all ages about the history of the site as well as its natural wonders. A bookstore opens year-round at historic Fort Pickens.
