Quick Facts

The Fort Mason Great Meadow is large open area filled with meandering paths surrounded by grassy lawns. There are accessible pedestrian access points into the Great Meadow at the intersections of Marina Blvd and Laguna St, Laguna St and Bay St, Bay St and Octavia St and from inside Fort Mason at MacArthur Ave. If you enter from the Marina Blvd intersection, follow the directional arrows along Laguna St to the accessible route. Accessible parking is available from inside Fort Mason at MacArthur Ave in front of the Headquarters building and at the parking lot behind building 101. There is an accessible restroom located within the Great Meadow. The pathways are paved asphalt. The entire loop including the paths along Laguna and Bay total of 0.5 miles. Along this loop you can take in views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Lower Fort Mason Center. There are a couple accessible benches along the pathways as well.

Water can be found Adjacent to the Great Meadow. Avoid becoming dehydrated or experiencing heat exhaustion. Drink plenty and drink often, pace yourself, rest in the shade, and eat salty snacks.
