Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

Fort Bunker Hill was leveled after the Civil War, but the grounds were reclaimed for civilian use. The land was acquired by the National Park Service in the 1930s. The Civilian Conservation Corps constructed an outdoor amphitheater and installed concrete water fountains at Fort Bunker Hill. The park was was for concerts, summer camps, and other recreational activites.
