This is the intersection of the Florida National Scenic Trail and the Blackbird Marsh Trail in the Fort Pickens Area. From here, visitors may hike a scenic and informative nature trail showcasing many types of Florida vegetation. The loop is 0.5 mile total. Visitors may also reach campground Loop A via the south entrance of the Blackbird Marsh Trail. Continuing east on the Florida Trail will lead to Battery Langon and Langdon Beach after another 0.5 miles. Continuing west leads to Campground Loops B-E.
The Florida National Scenic Trail , or just Florida Trail, is a federally-designated trail intended to offer a continuous non-motorized recreation opportunity showcasing the biodiversity, history, and culture of Florida.
It begins here in Gulf Islands National Seashore. Follow it south for over 1,300 miles and to its most southern terminus in the river of grass in Big Cypress National Preserve.
