Eucalyptus Grove (Prisoner's Harbor)
Eucalyptus trees in Prisoner's Harbor were planted in the 1880s for shade, fuel, pier pilings, and other building projects. While some of these trees remain today around the historic buildings and picnic area, other eucalyptus trees in the riparian corridor were removed during the restoration of the wetland. See Prisoner's Harbor Wetland for more information.
