Earth Wall offers a glimpse beneath the surface with heavy nods to archaeology. The sphere is representing an artifact, which is buried by a rammed earth wall, which was excavated by the artist. By doing this, Goldsworthy essentially created an artifact, buried it, then excavated it back out, even utilizing archaeology tools. Notice the cracks, color difference, and other changes caused by time. Does time make things better or worse? How much surface must we remove to appreciate the core?

- Created 2014
- Made of curved eucalyptus branches set in the rammed earth wall
- Open when the Presidio Officers' Club is open, Tuesday - Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
