Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

Enemy soldiers landing at Piscataway Creek would need to contend with this position. In what is basically a bunker, defending soldiers could direct small arms, like rifles, towards an approaching foe. If enemy troops managed to breach the outer defenses, fire could also be reversed and directed towards the outer lying dry moat.

The Counterscarp Gallery is in poor condition. Please exercise caution around the site.
