Location : Access the Christian Pond trail from the east edge of the parking lot next to the corrals at the Jackson Lake Lodge.
Notes : There are minimal facilities and limited parking at this trailhead. Restrooms, water, and other facilities available at the nearby Jackson Lake Lodge. Bears may be active any place and at any time-travel in groups, make noise and carry bear spray. Hikers cannot access backcountry camping from this trailhead.
Destinations
Gently rolling trails lead to a short loop around Christian Pond. Hikers seeking a longer trek may continue on to Emma Matilda and Two Ocean lakes. Sagebrush meadows lead to conifer forests around the lakes. A steep climb accesses Grandview Point and sweeping views of the Teton Range across Jackson Lake. Many hikers venture out the first few miles, but the number of visitors decreases with distance. Many unofficial trails exist in this area. Carry a map and watch for trail signs.
Christian Pond Loop
3.3 mi. RT, 2 hours, 250 ft total climbing, Easy.
Walk through marsh habitat near the pond, then climb a forested ridge for views of the Teton Range.
Name Origin
Charles A. Christian, commonly known as Tex, was the caretaker of the Amoretta Inn that later became the original Jackson Lake Lodge at Moran.
