Audio Description, Scenic View/Photo Spot

Walk to the top of this hill for views covering nearly all of the national monument, including housing areas, Villa la Paz, and what is now the Visitor Center and Memorial Garden. From here, you can also see Cesar's meditation point to the east and Three Peaks to the north.

Cesar's Meditation Point

Cesar's meditation point can be seen on a hill in the distance, in the direction of the Chavez home and beyond the railroad tracks. When Cesar lived at La Paz, he often hiked to this spot near his house at or before dawn. This time of reflection at the beginning of his day gave him a chance to meditate, pray and prepare for the day ahead.

Three Peaks

Although Three Peaks can be seen from nearly everywhere in the monument, this location and Cesar's meditation spot both provide excellent views of the surrounding area.
