Quick Facts

Historical/Interpretive Information/Exhibits

While the Whiskey Still exhibit may not be the same size as the massive operation that once stood along the banks of Blue Blazes Run in the 1920s, the new Blue Blazes still is more typical of the smaller moonshine still of an earlier day. Moonshining was a way of life in the Appalachians and the production of whiskey was an important source of income.
