The entrance to this site sits within the Franklin Court Courtyard. Enter from Market Street or Chestnut Street, between 3rd and 4th Streets. The Benjamin Franklin Museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm. There is a nominal fee to enter. *Note: the Benjamin Franklin Museum is free on the following days in 2025: January 20, April 19, June 19, August 4, September 27, and November 11.

The Benjamin Franklin Museum explores the life and achievements of this multifaceted founding father. Situated underground, the museum hosts artifacts, videos, and computer interactives highlighting Franklin's early years as a printer, politician, philanthropist, family man, his subsequent explorations in science, and his long diplomatic career in Europe. The exhibits reveal his changing character as he embraced the abolition of slavery (a onetime slaveholder himself), the revolution for independence, and a host of other social movements over the course of his long life.
