Arizona Island picnic area consists of just a few tables in a meadow with mature forests surrounding. Have a snack and enjoy the view when traveling to or from Yellowstone National Park.
Name Origin
Once a peninsula, it became an island when Jackson Lake was dammed. Named for Arizona George who trapped in this area with his partner Dog-faced Pete. In 1888, George was found dead on the creek that bears his name.
