Nanich-iliɂi, pronounced nan-eech-illi-he, or look at the land were instructions given to the expedition for their journey across the country. It was part of their daily duties to write about the face of the country and what existed beyond the United States borders. This sign is but one reminder of the many jobs given to the Corps of Discovery.
