Legislation: As of February 22, 2010, a new federal law allows people who can legally possess firearms under federal, Minnesota, and local laws, to possess firearms at Pipestone National Monument. Park User Responsibility: It is the visitor's responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws. As a starting point, please visit Minnesota State website's: Minnesota Firearms Laws or Minnesota Statute 624.714 Weapons Prohibited in Federal Facilities: State law prohibits the possession of Rifles, Shotguns and BB guns in public places such as Pipestone National Monument.
