Physical / Mobility

Pea Ridge National Military Park's tour road was designed to be toured by a vehicle along the tour road and stopping at any of the ten tour stops. Parking varies at each stop. Each stop has interpretive signs for the visitor to read. Some of these pullouts have only one sign, and others have multiple signs. The tour road surface is made of chip and seal pavement, which is relatively flat and level, and can be maneuvered across easily. Some of the tour stops have level concrete pavement to move across. There are some tour stops with parking lots that have signs that are positioned away from the parking lot and concrete pavement and onto grass or dirt surfaces and can become muddy depending on the weather.

Visitor Center
There are large industrial welcome mats on both sides of the entrance doors at all public entrances. The floors are all level and flat. The flooring in the visitor center is an artificial wood laminate that has a wood grain texture. Inside the visitor center restrooms, the floor has wide tile with grout in between the tiles. When wet, the tile in the restroom is very slippery.
The visitor center parking lot has three accessible parking spaces about 30 yards from the visitor center's entry doors. The front entrance to the visitor center has heavy manual pull doors. The right door can be opened by pressing the large silver button on the marked accessible post preceding the door. The restrooms in the visitor center are located at the back of the bookstore on the right-hand side. The men's and women's restroom doors will open by pressing the large silver button on the wall outside of the restroom doors next to the door handle. The auditorium has manual pull doors. These doors are propped open unless a program is in progress. Inside there is a space for a wheelchair or other mobility device in the front row.
