William Gardner
Gardner was employed at Gilbert L. Lloyd's store at the Summit in Cambria County.
In 1845 he moved to Jefferson, now Wilmore, and in 1849 was involved in the mercantile business once again with Gilbert Lloyd and also Arthur Hill. He then moved to Washington D.C. and worked as a division clerk at the Treasury Department during the Civil War. He moved back to Pennsylvania and settled in Hollidaysburg in the late 1860s.
He married Lucy Thompson and had seven children: Austin T., Arthur L., Harry A., Nannie M., Osmond W., Sallie S., and William H., Jr.
He was employed by First National Bank as a cashier in Hollidaysburg. His home was on Allegheny Street.
