| Richard Edward Wade was born on December 24, 1936 and had his home of record listed as Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. He served for ten years in the US Army and started his tour in Vietnam on July 25, 1967 as a Staff Sergeant in Adv Team 27, MACV. He specialised as an Infantry Operations and Intelligence Specialist. On November 4, 1967, Wade was involved in a vehicle collision while in a truck as part of a convoy in the Binh Dinh province, South Vietnam, and passed away. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, a Combat Infantryman Badge, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Vietnam Service Medal. Wade is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. on panel 29E, line 22 and is buried at Stones River National Cemetery in plot Q-6761. |
