| Thomas Seymore (Seymour) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1842 and moved to Wilmington, Delaware where he worked as a laborer. Enlisting in September 1861, he was promoted to corporal in March 1862 and to sergeant in March the following year. On July 3 1863, during the Battle of Gettysburg, sergeant Seymore was killed instantly by a 12-pound cannonball, striking him directly in the chest. |
