As the fighting of World War II was expanding, Glen enlisted in the United States Navy on March 8, 1940. He served as a ship's or officer's cook (SC 1) throughout the conflict and was honorably discharged on February 6, 1948. We do not know much about Glen's service during the war. When this photo was published in 1942, he was serving at the U.S. Naval Air Station in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Glen became a restaraunt cook following the war. He was killed in a car accident on April 25, 1957. He is buried in the national cemetery his father cared for nearly twenty years in plot P-6336.
