The following is from the 2004 National Park Service study Patriots of Color researched and prepared by George Quintal:

Nothing is known of the early life of London Citizen.¹

He joined the eight month’s service on 27 May 1775 in the company of Capt. Charles Furbush, in Col. Ebenezer Bridge’s regiment.² On 30 June 1775 he was in Cambridge, as is evidenced by a receipt for advanced pay.³ The last record of service for him is an ‘order for bounty coat or its equivalent in money dated Cambridge, Nov. 21, 1775.’⁴
