Robert Kerry Jones was born on July 28, 1927 in Auburntown, TN. He enlisted to serve in World War II on June 21st, 1945, but was later discharged on the 19th of August, 1946, on account of the war coming to an end.

On March 24th, 1951, Jones enlisted again to serve in the Korean War. He enlisted into the Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant of the 2415th Tech Training Wing. With this unit, he was stationed at the Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Colorado. The Lowry AFB was meant to provide training to airmen during WWII and the Cold War, specializing in aerial photography, electronics, rocket propulsion, and more. While stationed there, Jones passed away on May 17, 1956. It is unclear how he died. His legacy lived on in his wife, Richardean N Jones.

Jones is laid to rest at Stones River National Cemetery in plot P-6380.
