| Born in 1842, Henry made his home in Providence, Rhode Island, working as a farm laborer until enlisting August 1861. On January 31, 1863 Henry was promoted to corporal. During his time with the 1st Light Artillery he was remembered, by his regiment, as an industrious man, who was almost always employed with extra chores to earn extra money. Henry was shot in the thigh on the second day's fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg. He later died between July 2 and 3, 1863. |
