Born in Memphis, TN in 1868, Harry was a blacksmith in Dyersburg, Dyer County, TN until enlistment in May, 1898. Between May and June of that same year, Harry was promoted to corporal. One month later, August 15, 1898, Harry was detached to Santiago Cuba.
He succumbed to an unspecified disease on August 18, 1898 at the age of 30. His remains were transferred and then interred in Gettysburg National Cemetery on September 18, 1898.
