The following is from the 2004 National Park Service study Patriots of Color researched and prepared by George Quintal:

Nothing is known of the early life of Boston Osborn.I

He enlisted from Ipswich (MA) on 15 May 1775 as a drummer, in the company of Capt. Nathaniel Wade in Col. Moses Little’s regiment. The October 1775 return lists him as 18 years old.II
