Charles R. Barnett was born on September 4, 1840 to Soloman and Mary Barnett. He served as a Private in Company D of the 143rd Indiana Infantry. The 143rd Indiana Infantry was mustered on February 21, 1865. They served in Tennessee in multiple cities, including Nashville and Murfreesboro. Barnett died on either May 22, 1865 or May 29, 1865 with the location of his death being Murfreesboro.
