| Alexander C. Andes served as a Sergeant in Company M of the 2nd Tennessee Cavalry. The 2nd Tennessee Cavalry was organized in July 1862. They served in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee until September 1862 before withdrawing to Kentucky. After, they made their way through West Virginia, and Ohio before they came back to Tennessee by way of Kentucky. On December 31st, 1862, they fought at the Battle of Stones River. They were still in Murfreesboro, Tennessee when Andes died on April 26, 1863. Alexander Andes is buried at Stones River National Cemetery in plot O-5619. |
