The World War II sites located in Chuuk are situated on private land.
To view and photograph them, permission is required from the landowner.
To dive the shipwrecks a permit is required from the Chuuk Government.
Contact the Chuuk Historic Preservation Office or the Chuuk Visitors
Bureau for further information.
After 1986, the traditional name Chuuk became the official name for this
State of Micronesia. Up till that time it had been known as Truk.
