Cumming also owned a farm along the Santa Cruz on the south half of the Float. When the Float was confirmed, he and his new bride Inez, a schoolteacher from Texas, had to build a new home up Peck Canyon, which was called Pollack Canyon at the time because of a Polish farmer who had settled there.
