Recreational Use of Land in the United States
APPENDIX VII
QUESTIONNAIRES FOR PARK DATA

Because of the fact that up-to-date data on the extent, number, type, administration, etc., of various kinds of recreation areas were not available for use in connection with this report, five special types of questionnaires were distributed to obtain such data. Of these, two were worked up by the Recreation Division. These were form RD-1, dealing with data on State properties partly or wholly devoted to recreation, and the Park User questionnaire. The remaining three—on county parks, on municipal parks in cities of 5,000 population or more, and on municipal parks in cities of less than 5,000—were revisions of questionnaires used for the same purpose in 1930 by the National Recreation Association.

The number of questionnaires sent out was as follows:

Questionnaire for State-park data5,654
Questionnaire for county-park data85
Questionnaire for municipalities of 5,000 or more600
Questionnaire for municipalities of less than 5,0001,397
Questionnaire for park users100,000

Copies of these questionnaires follow.

Web Edition Note: Copies of the questionnaires have been omitted from the online edition of this document.
