MENU Recreational-Area Programs Act |
This is a brief statement of the history and organization of the National Park Service. It is the story of an organization whose traditions are rooted in the civic consciousness which gave birth to the national park idea; and of the men and women whose careers have been dedicated to that idea. It is offered to all who are engaged in this work, for the purpose of making them familiar with the origin, functions and objectives of the Service. Material contributed by various Branches and individuals is acknowledged with appreciation. This booklet was compiled and edited by James F. Kieley, associate recreational planner. 1940 UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CORPS
