September 28, 1780 Having ridden down the North Toe River from Roaring Creek the Overmountain Men came to a tributary called Grassy Creek. At this intersection was Cathey’s Plantation and they made their encampment on the grounds on September 28. There are currently no interpretive features or public facilities at this site. |
