NPS works with many partners on Wild and Scenic Rivers.

The National Park Service works closely with many partners to protect and enhance the WSRs placed under its care. State and local governments are often involved. Rivers seldom follow political boundaries or property lines and stewardship is a responsibility shared by all. NPS works with all partners and the Interagency Wild and Scenic River Coordinating Council to promote consistent stewardship for the national system. Here are some of the partners we work with:

National nonprofit Partners - American Rivers, River Network, River Management Society, American Whitewater

NPS Rivers, Trail and Conservation Assistance Program - Provides technical assistance to all U.S. rivers regardless of designation status.

Interagency Wild and Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council - Includes Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, US Fish and Wildlife

NPS Water Resources Division

NPS Cultural Resources Division

NPS Partnership Wild and Scenic Rivers

NPS Planning and Special Studies Division
