What We Do

The Public Risk Management Program (PRMP) was formally established by Director’s Order 50C and

  • uses a public health approach to address leading causes and risk factors associated with injuries and deaths in national parks
  • promotes injury prevention strategies utilizing all 4-Es of injury prevention (engineering, enforcement, education, emergency response)
  • builds internal capacity through training, education, and partnerships

PRMP aims to reduce unintentonal injuries by educating and empowering visitors to adequately plan for their trip and make informed decision while recreating in national parks.
