World War II Memorial - Visitation
Visitors at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. NPS social scientists collect visitor use data.

The social sciences leverage several disciplines to focus on the study of humans and human interactions in national parks. This research helps park managers and visitors better understand the national park system and how we interact with the resource. The National Capital Region of the National Park Service works to advance understanding within the social sciences. To learn more about the active research happening in the National Park Service related to this topic please visit the NPS Social Science page.
