Natures Research Laboratory As a famous member of the International Biosphere Reserve program, Noatak National Preserve is an outdoor lab for research on arctic ecology and archeology. At 6.7 million acres, the national preserve protects 280 miles of the Noatak River, plus the flanking Brooks Range and Baird Mountains. Nearly 90% of the land is designated wilderness, which limits development and supports a healthy ecosystem. |
