Visitors can possess firearms within Noatak National Preserve under applicable federal and Alaska state law .
Under federal law, the use or discharge of a firearm in Noatak National Preserve is prohibited except for defense of life or property against wildlife; or by legal means of take of wildlife by licensed sport hunters and/or federally qualified subsistence users in Noatak National Preserve.
Federal law prohibits firearms in certain federal facilities; those places are marked with signs at all public entrances.
