Spider and Its Prey
The Spider Blitz participants had many opportunities to see spiders in action over the weekend.
Hostel at Schoodic Education and Research Center
The hostel on the Schoodic Education and Research Center campus provides lodging for school groups during the Schoodic Education Adventure and for researchers during events such as BioBlitzes.
Nature Center Grounds Rehabilitation
Park fees were used to finance the rehabilitation of the Nature Center grounds and installation of an outdoor kiosk with maps and exhibits.
Look for this sign, which marks projects financed by user fees throughout the park.
Bridge on Long Pond Trail
This new wooden bridge replaced an old, unsafe bridge in 2005.
Stairs at Pretty Marsh
A new set of stairs was constructed down to the water at Pretty Marsh Picnic Area to protect vegetation and provide a safe experience for visitors.
Ship Harbor Trail
The first half of the Ship Harbor Trail is now accessible.
Fare-Free Island Explorer Buses
When the system is in operation, half of all weekly passes and Acadia National Park passes support the Island Explorer bus system.
Isle au Haut Ranger Station
The Isle au Haut Ranger Station was built to greet visitors upon arrival.
All bridges on the carriage road system were repointed, which helps preserve these historic features for the future.
