Notice to the Public: Temporary Closure of the Area around the Want Water Ruins near Harmony Hall

September 2, 2025: The National Park Service is imposing a temporary closure of the area around the Want Water Ruins near Harmony Hall, Fort Washington, MD from 7:00 am Tuesday, September 2, 2025, through 5:00 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2025, while the ruins are stabilized. Employees of the National Park Service, US Park Police, and contractors of those agencies may enter the closed area.

Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached.

Persons using these park areas should remove themselves and any personal property in violation of the above closures and public use limitations from the closed park areas by 7:00 am Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The National Park Service appreciates the public’s cooperation in this matter.
