Notice to the Public: Temporary Closure of the Aquatic Resources Education Center Parking Lot in Anacostia Park

September 17, 2025: The National Park Service is imposing a temporary closure of the Aquatic Resources Education Center parking lot in Anacostia Park. This area will be closed to the public from 8:00 am through 4:00 p.m. on September 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26, 2025.
Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached.
This temporary closure is necessary to provide for visitor safety while the parking lot is repaired and restriped. This project will restore and preserve park resources and improve the visitor experience.
Parking at the Anacostia Park Skating Pavilion and Boat Ramp as well as nearby street parking will remain open.
Persons using these park areas should remove themselves and any property from the closed areas by 8:00 am on September 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26, 2025.
