NPS May 9, 2025: Anacostia Drive SE from the three-way-stop intersection near the South Capitol Street Entrance to Anacostia Park extending to the Anacostia Recreation Center, Marion Barry Avenue SE, Aviation Drive SE, and administrative roadways around the US Park Police Anacostia Operations Facility in Anacostia Park will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached. This temporary closure and public use limit is necessary for the protection of pedestrians, including those who will participate in and attend the Anacostia River Festival permitted event in Anacostia Park. Persons with vehicles in these park areas should remove their vehicles from the closed park areas by 6:00 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The National Park Service appreciates the public’s cooperation in this matter. |
