NPS May 9, 2025: Anacostia Drive SE from the US Park Police Anacostia Operations Facility to the Anacostia Park Boat Ramp, Marion Barry Avenue SE from Aviation Drive SE to Anacostia Drive SE, and Nicholson Street SE from Fairlawn Avenue SE to Anacostia Drive SE in Anacostia Park will be closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 6:00 am to 10:30 am. Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached. This temporary closure and public use limit is necessary for the protection of pedestrians, including those who will participate in and observe a permitted 5k run event along Anacostia Drive SE in Anacostia Park. Persons with vehicles in these park areas should remove their vehicles from the closed park areas by 6:00 am on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The National Park Service appreciates the public’s cooperation in this matter. |
