Notice to the Public of a Temporary Closure of Anacostia Drive SE

May 12, 2026: Anacostia Drive SE, from South Capitol Street to past the Anacostia Park Skating Pavilion in Anacostia Park, will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6:00 am until 10:00 am on May 17, 2026.

Violation is prohibited. A map illustrating the closed park areas is attached.

This temporary closure and public use limit is necessary for the protection of pedestrians, including those who will participate in and observe a permitted 5k run event along Anacostia Drive SE in Anacostia Park. Persons with vehicles in these park areas should remove their vehicles from the closed park areas by 6:00 am on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
