The National Park Service (NPS) Experienced Services Program (ESP) offers individuals 55 and older temporary paid assignments to support and augment the capacity of the NPS to meet itsʹ mission, goals and objectives in areas where it lacks sufficient expertise, technical skills and/or capacity. Working with the Center for Workforce Inclusion (an ESP provider since 2008), the NPS uses the ESP to add capacity quickly and to support Federal workers working to sustain park operations. The ESP also provides NPS with additional capacity to respond to unexpected events and issues that can occur. The Center for Workforce Inclusion administers the Experienced Services Program as a national nonprofit organization selected by the National Park Service. After qualified applicants are selected through the Center’s application process, the NPS staff oversees the work activities of ESP Enrollees while the Center provides payroll, time record maintenance, record keeping, and administrative support. Administrative Support AssistantProvides administrative and clerical support to include payroll, property and preparing for purchasing for NACE personnel. Community Engagement SpecialistResponsible for developing and implementing community engagement strategies for NACE sites working with the management team, regional office and park partners. Visual Information SpecialistThe position supports NACE in the development of visual materials for internal and external audiences. Work includes planning the visual aspects of such visual materials as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, slides, and charts used in newsletters, pamphlets, exhibits, live or video recorded speeches or lectures, and other means of communication such as web content where the general format and specific themes to be illustrated are predetermined. Cultural Resource SpecialistAssists with the NACE cultural resources program and the production of documents required for park planning, maintenance, and new construction projects, as well as cultural resources management activities and tasks associated with baseline documents. Environmental Protection SpecialistAssists with NACE's environmental compliance program and the production of documents required for park planning, maintenance, and new construction projects, natural and cultural resources management activities and utility right-of- way projects. Safety OfficerAssists with the occupational health and safety program to include hazardous materials management, risk assessment, training, physical security, highway safety and evaluation of NACE's safety and fire protection program. Facilities Service SpecialistAssist in the development of basic project or contract statements of work or performance work statements, and cost estimates. Track contract performance, and track funding and invoicing processes including purchase requests. Assist in the development of processes to improve project and contract development, tracking, and close-out. Partnerships CoordinatorThis position supports the NACE Partnerships, Volunteer and Youth programs office in partner management tasks, meetings, requests, tracking and monitoring of programs and events.
