Chris Jorgensen (1860 – 1935)
ca. 1899-1906
Originally from Oslo, Norway, Jorgensen settled in California and trained at the San Francisco School of Design. He visited Yosemite in 1899 and decided to make it his summer home. His wife bequeathed many of his paintings to the Yosemite Museum in 1936.
