As the review process emphasizes public involvement, we encourage you to examine the attached information. Tentatively, we will be holding another public meeting the week of May 5, at which you can discuss your concerns with representatives from the NPS and the Society. Please continue to check our site for the specific date, time and location. You can submit comments at this meeting or provide them by email, fax, or in writing until May 28.

After the NPS has reviewed the comments, we will issue a determination of effect, in consultation with the Minnesota Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). This decision will define the next steps in the process. If there are adverse effects, we will seek input from the public and those parties that have indicated they want to participate in the review to help resolve the effects. We will provide schedule updates on this web site.

Along with the Section 106 review process, the NPS will be assessing the impacts of the proposed project under MNRRA’s Comprehensive Management Plan and the Nationwide River Inventory.
