B.A.R.K. stands for:
B - Bag Your Poop
Help us keep our battlefield clean by bagging your dog's waste and placing it in a trash receptacle. Please don't leave poop bags on the side of the trail. Dog feces is not a natural fertilizer and run off can contaminate local water sources.A - Always Wear a Leash
Keep your dog and others safe by using a handheld leash no longer than 6 feet in length. Leashes help dogs from becoming lost, protects the natural landscape, and prevents the disturbance of wildlife.R - Respect Wildlife
Keep to the trails at all times and maintain a safe distance from other animals, especially wildlife. Pets are also more likely to pick up ticks when off trail.K - Know Where You Can Go
Dogs are allowed on the property of our Visitor Center and at our Driving Tour stops, but not inside of the building. Only service animals are allowed in park buildings. No pets are allowed on the grounds of the National Cemetery that borders our Visitor Center grounds except for service animals.Special Note:
Please do not leave pets unattended, especially in vehicles. Heat can pose a serious threat to the health of your animal.
