Fish Tumors

National Park Service

Transcript

Moss: Some of the bullheads I’ve had had some tumors on them (stammers) when I started fishing there earlier on—probably back in the ‘80s. They had some kind of- some interesting growths on them.

NPS: Describe them to me. I’ve never seen them.

Moss: Open sores and like bumps on their mouths. Things like that.

NPS: Are they just prone to tumors?

Moss: They are more of a bottom feeder fish—a lot of contaminants tend to settle out at the bottom of the streams.

Description

Steven Moss caught some fish that were obviously sick, probably due to pollution.
