Outside Science (inside parks): Monitoring Vegetation at New River Gorge

“Forests are really important to these parks and if we don’t know what’s happening in the forest, we can’t manage them appropriately.”

In this episode of Outside Science (inside parks), we’re a New River Gorge, the newest national park. Rain or shine, park scientists and interns are combing the forest to keep an eye on forest health. This data will help park managers make decisions to help preserve and protect this special place for generations to come.
